What We Believe

    • The Bible is the inspired, inerrant word of God. As such, it is the only authoritative document revealing God, His purposes, and His ways. For the Christian, the Bible is the rule for both faith and life.
    • God exists as three Persons: the Father, the Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit, perfect in nature and character, essentially one. They are one God: coexistent, coeternal, and coequal. God is Creator of all that is.
    • We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ. Conceived by the Holy Spirit, He was born of a virgin. Jesus is God in the flesh: fully God and fully man. Jesus is the one mediator between man and God. He is also the righteous judge of all mankind.
    • Man was created by God to be with Him. God created man in His image, meaning that man is a rational, moral being capable of knowing and choosing right from wrong. God created man in such a fashion so that He might freely choose to love, honor, and obey God, thereby being in relationship with Him. Adam, the first man, disobeyed God, bringing spiritual and physical death into the world and severing the relationship that God desires with man. Adam was merely the first of many to commit sin; all of us have chosen to sin against God, separating ourselves from Him.
    • Jesus Christ, though tempted in every way as a man, committed no sin. Living a sinless life, He died a propitiatory death on the cross in punishment for our sin, and was buried. On the third day, Jesus physically rose from the dead in victory over death and the grave. He ascended to heaven, where He sits at the right hand of the Father, and continues to intercede for Believers.
    • We believe in the empowerment of the Believer by the Holy Spirit which allows the Believer to pursue holiness, live a Godly life, and boldly speak in witness to the truth of the Gospel message.
    • The return of Jesus is imminent.
    • We believe in the coming judgment. Every person will stand before Jesus and give account for their actions during their life. Ultimately, however, the eternal destiny of all persons is based on a single decision: did they turn from sin and receive Jesus as Lord. Those who have received Jesus as Lord will go to heaven to be with Him for eternity. Those who have not received Jesus, those who have chosen to remain separated from God, will pass from His Presence to be separated from Him for all eternity in a place called Hell: a place of spiritual, emotional, and physical torment.
